We've pointed to iPhone versus BlackBerry comparisons before (twice, in fact), but here's a slightly different comparison: the newly announced iPhone 3.0 operating system versus Google's Android operating system.

Unlike past comparisons which focused heavily on the hardware -- that is, the iPhone device itself versus a comparable BlackBerry device -- this comparison from Lifehacker looks exclusively at the operating system and the capabilities and limitations of each. For example, the chart compares phone-wide search functions (iPhone 3.0 will have it, Android won't) and video recording (Android will, iPhone won't).

The resolution of a Smartphone's camera or its physical size is an important consideration when selecting a phone, but the operating system and the software on the device are key factors in determining its usefulness to you and your practice. Be sure to research both the hardware and the software before buying.
